... My first question was: “When did this start?”
“At about 20:00” she answered.
By mow it was 3 in the morning: she had been suffering for a long time already. Another consideration was that she had come to me from the other end of town and that at this time at night, there were very few taxis and people in soviet times did not have a car, by and large.
“What did you do just before this happened?”
“ I was working in the garden, pulling out some old plants and planting new ones.”
“And after? Did you talk to anyone, did you meet any one?”
“Yes, with a neighbor. She came to ask for some salt and she told me with envy: “you live so well, you have everything whereas we are so poor. Our large family does not have clothes enough, sometimes not even enough food..”
I said to her: “You shold not have made so many babies, yet you did. Also you should have not been lazy, I don’t see that you go to work!”
As always in this kind of situations, I tuned n with the Teacher and felt a connection with Him. From a rational view point, she was right: when someone gives birth to children without thinking what comes next and if tis person is also lazy, then no thought is spent on how to feed the children.
Of course, what she had said was the truth, yet the Teacher showed another picture.
This woman was working for the government and was used to teach everyone; she had considerable authority at that time. IN talking with the neighbour, she had answered to her haughtily. Her pride had exceeded the karmic level of the given situation. Her negative karma had accumulated and had started to materialise with the results I have explained above.
What was the solution? Surgery?? Of course this was one possibility that could free her from physical pain. What, however, if there were complications? Karmically, the soul of this woman, would not be cleaned. The soul purifies itself only through conscious suffering. (We shall talk about conscious suffering at a later stage).
At that moment I needed to find a solution and then I offered a method: she had to go to the other woman, to her neighbour and ask for forgiveness.
I felt immense pain as I looked at her, but I had to be taught, not to show any pity, but simply deep compassion for this person who was overcome by both physical and psychological pain. I started to pray, asking the highest powers for help. This time, unlike the time with the American woman, there was no arrogance on my part.
She was listening.
“God sent you a lesson. If you believe in me as a doctor, then the only way out is surgery, if you, however, believe in me as person, then you must go and ask forgiveness you’re your neighbour. If not, surgery may end up in a tragedy. She believed and after two hours came a phone call…..
(To be continued: Karmic forgiveness...)
